Czech and Mandarin with plans to add more as growth occurs. Partners and team members offer
a depth of cultural knowledge in different jurisdictions which is highly valued for today’s global
business interactions. Before this new partnership, Barakat was the principal at Barakat Law,
founded 15 years ago and Bossa was formerly with Morris Law in Miami.
The new partnership is creating a mentoring program called the Incubator which is designed to
develop young attorneys into trial lawyers and to attract bright new talent. “This is a place to
learn to try a case before a jury, for talented young lawyers who do not choose to go to the State
or Public defender’s office,” Barakat notes. Already, several lawyers have received the
opportunity to try their first case, often as first chair, under the direction of these partners.
The need for the new firm was evident to both partners who have helped hundreds of their clients
with business disputes for years in the Miami area. As many entrepreneurial companies grew,
their legal needs also expanded – often with cases that required service outside the area and into
other countries. Plus, many companies were interacting with opportunities presented by
businesses outside of the United States and required help about legal issues and other details
involved with contracts with these entities. “The value for our current and new clients is that we
can serve more of their needs in so many more jurisdictions,” according to Brian Barakat. “This
simplifies the process for legal services and is more efficient than having multiple firms handling
different issues.” Barakat feels many people are comfortable with relations they have with him
