AXS Art an AXS Law Group art initiative

         AXS Art, an AXS Law Group art initiative, is pleased to announce the opening of Embodied: Self Focus on November 14, 2019, curated by Evan Taylor and featuring artists (Ms.) Rawan Rajab and (Mr.) Jean Paul Vivas. The show illustrates how both artists use the human body as a vehicle to react to social constraints, for self-expression and to analyze their experiences. Proceeds from the Opening Reception will benefit No More Tears USA in Miami which assists victims of human trafficking and domestic violence.        
            Born in Saudi Arabia, Rawan is intently focused on the how societal expectations of women effect the female identity. In her wirework collection, she examines the physical constraints of society on women. She conceptualizes clothing and the visual manifestation of the female body by Western and Middle Eastern societies. Rawan is a Master of Fine Arts student at the Miami International University of Art and Design.
            A native of Venezuela, Jean’s work expresses his own experience living in the impersonal 21st century. The pressures of modern society to create and perform play a critical role in how Jean views the world. Through and because of these societal pressures, Jean has internalized ‘an obsession’ with attaining perfection through an artistic exercise he relies upon to escape conformity. He is pursuing a Bachelor in Visual Arts degree at the Miami International University of Art and Design.  
            Embodied: Self Focus will be on display by appointment only from 11-14-19 to 1-31-20. An Opening Reception will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 6-8pm.
