TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF BRAZIL IN MIAMI
Due to measures adopted by the US authorities in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, including the closing of establishments and cancellation of public events, and with a view of securing the safety of employees and the general public, the Consulate General informs that it will close to the public as of March 18, 2020. The Consulate General will issue consular documents only in the following emergency situations:
1. Tourists with lost/stolen passports;
2. Death;
3. Hospitalization.
a) Consular services scheduled for the next days will be canceled and rescheduled in due course;
b) Emergency consular services must be requested at consular.miami@itamaraty.gov.br. The email must include "EMERGENCY ATTENDANCE" in the subject field; a brief justification for the emergency; and attached support documents; as well as contact details. Requests will be assessed, on a case-by-case basis, by a consular authority;
c) Consular assistance, such as hospitalization, imprisonment, and resolution of immigration disputes, among other situations, can be requested at +1 (305) 801-6201 or assistencia.miami@itamaraty.gov.br.
The Consulate General relies on the community's understanding of the exceptional nature of this situation and expects to resume regular services as soon as conditions allow.

The Brazilian Government announced that effective June 17, 2019, a visitor visa (electronic or paper) will not be required for U.S. citizens to travel to Brazil for the purpose of tourism, business, transit, and artistic and sportive activities, for stays of up to 90 days.
