Steven Butterman, Ph.D.: was recently named the Richard E. Greenleaf Distinguished Professor in Latin American Studies at Tulane University, where he served as Scholar in Residence in spring 2016. Associate Professor of Portuguese and Director of the Portuguese Language Program since 2000, Butterman teaches Portuguese language courses and Brazilian literature and cultural studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Miami,
