Biography
JACOB L. RATZAN is an immigration attorney and shareholder of Jacob L. Ratzan, P.A., with offices at 1450 Brickell Ave. in Miami, Florida. Mr. Ratzan is admitted to the Florida and New York Bars, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Ratzan is one of only sixty attorneys in the state of Florida to be Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Florida Bar.
The mission of Jacob L. Ratzan, P.A. is as follows: (1) to help U.S. employers hire and employ foreign nationals in compliance with U.S. immigration laws; (2) to help foreign nationals live and work lawfully in the United States; and (3) to help U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents live in the United States with their foreign-born relatives.
Jacob L. Ratzan, P.A. concentrates on employment-based green card applications (e.g., PERM), investor visas, extraordinary ability petitions, nonimmigrant visas (e.g., E, H-1B, K, L, O, P, R), family-based green card applications, petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (“VAWA”), federal court actions for delayed applications, and waivers of inadmissibility.
The majority of Mr. Ratzan’s clients come from South America, including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Venezuela. However, Mr. Ratzan also represents businesses and individuals from Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
Since 2009, Mr. Ratzan has served on the Board of the South Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), for which he is currently First Vice President and co-chair of the CIS Liaison and CLE committees.
Mr. Ratzan earned his Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2005, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Tufts University in 1997. Mr. Ratzan is fluent in Spanish, having spent time living in Spain and Chile.
